Two weeks ago, an Improv Everywhere group from Michigan staged this impromptu fake mini marathon where the "participants" run thru a mall and then completely freeze before they get to the finish line. The reaction of the unsuspecting patrons is priceless!

Pranksters Hijack a Subway Car and Turn it into a Living Room

A group of Improv Everywhere-inspired pranksters based in Prague turned a subway car into a living room.

On a Friday afternoon, the commuters of a train were rather surprised when a young woman got on board and proceeded to spread out a rug on the floor. At the next station, two guys brought in a large armchair, a coat rack, table, a classical antique telephone, a pair of slippers, and a flower in a vase.

Once everything was set up, at Jinonice station, some six stops from where everything started, a dressed-up man came in, put his coat and umbrella at the rack, sat down in the armchair and proceeded to make himself comfortable by loosening his tie, removing his shoes and putting on a pair of slippers. The man then picked up a magazine and started reading while the commuters looked on in disbelief.

For me, what makes these stunts really entertaining is the look of collective astonishment on the unsuspecting public. And in that regard, I think they should have included more shots of the passengers’ reactions while the whole thing was going down. But other than that, I think the stunt was well executed and it has its funny moments.

Improv Everywhere Celebrates Brooklyn Bridge with Wave of Lights

Improv Everywhere the improvisation troupe which has been staging pre-planned "missions" and pranks in public places since 2001, celebrated the 125th anniversary of New York City's beautiful and historic Brooklyn Bridge by posting 700 of its "agents" armed with cameras for a "Camera Flash Experiment". The cameras fired their flashes off simultaneously in the same direction thus creating a short-lived but really beautiful wave of light across the bridge.

Actors Break Out Singing And Dancing In Guerrilla Ad In Front Of Shocked Crowd

This is a guerrilla ad by a group of actors who surprised and shocked a group of people waiting at Stansted Airport in London with an impromptu musical performance a la Improv Everywhere.Its always fun for me to see people's reactions when they see the actors pop out of nowhere singing and some even tap dancing.There were 14 actors and 7 hidden cameras involved in this guerrilla ad to promote the website lastminute.com which is a London-based online travel site which also books theater tickets. A well-placed sign can be spotted at the end of the clever commercial asking the question, "When was the last time you went to the theatre"?

Hilarious Impromptu Musical at a Mall by Improv Everywhere Shocks Unsuspecting Patrons

Improv Everywhere is an unorthodox comedy group based in New York City, formed in 2001 by Charlie Todd. Its slogan is "We Cause Scenes," which the group lives up to by executing non-demeaning pranks in public places. Improv Everywhere has organized and carried out over 70 missions, from synchronized swimming in a park fountain to repeating a short sequence of events in a Starbucks café every five minutes for an hour to flooding a Best Buy store with members dressed exactly like the staff, to deploying 111 shirtless male shoppers at an Abecrombie and Fitch store and more. This video features IE "agents" at Baldwin Hill Mall in Los Angeles in what can only be described as a flash mob musical. It is absolutely hilarious.
